I am really moved. More than 60,000 views for my town of birth: LIMBURG AN DER LAHN
I am particularly proud of the success of this video: ONE DAY IN LIMBURG AN DER LAHN has now reached more than 60,000 viewers.
That’s a really great feeling, because I’m also personally connected to Limburg: It is my birthplace.
Limburg an der Lahn is a city full of history – its beginnings go back to the early Middle Ages: “Lintpurc” was first mentioned in a document in year 910. The construction of the church, which became Limburg’s Cathedral, probably began shortly after the document was issued. Together with foundation of the abbey, Limburg gained in importance which brought prosperity and prestige. Because of its very well-preserved townscape, the entire city centre is a listed building. For me, Limburg an der Lahn is one of the most beautiful cities in Hessen. My personal highlights are of course the old town with its medieval charm and cathedral which I also show from inside.
The old town is really very beautiful and well worth seeing. I’m not just saying that because I was born there, but because that’s just the way it is. You can’t get enough of the medieval half-timbered houses. But just see for yourself.
Good to know: In my video there is a little bonus at the very end after the credits: The House of the 7 Vices, probably the most famous half-timbered house in Limburg.

Das ist ein ganz tolles Gefühl, da ich mit Limburg auch persönlich verbunden bin: Es ist nämlich meine Geburtsstadt.
Limburg an der Lahn ist eine Stadt voller Geschichte – ihre Anfänge reichen bis ins frühe Mittelalter zurück: Zum ersten Mal urkundlich erwähnt wurde “Lintpurc” im Jahr 910. Der Bau der Stiftskirche, des heutigen Limburger Doms, begann vermutlich kurz nach der Ausstellung der Urkunde. Mit der Gründung des Stifts gewann Limburg zunehmend an Bedeutung und brachte es zu Wohlstand und Ansehen. Wegen ihres sehr gut erhaltenen Stadtbilds steht die gesamte Innenstadt unter Denkmalschutz. Meine persönlichen Highlights sind natürlich die Altstadt mit ihrem mittelalterlichen Charme und der Dom, den ich auch ausgiebig von innen zeige.
Die Altstadt ist wirklich außergewöhnlich schön und sehr sehenswert. Das sage ich nicht nur, weil ich dort geboren wurde, sondern, weil es einfach so ist. Man kann sich an den mittelalterlichen Fachwerkhäusern gar nicht satt sehen. Aber seht einfach selbst und macht euch euer eigenes Bild.
Übrigens: In meinem Video gibt es ganz am Ende nach dem Abspann noch einen kleinen Bonus: Das Haus der 7 Laster, das wohl bekannteste Fachwerkhaus Limburgs.
