The amazing BANGKOK video series: Let’s start with part 1:
Bangkok is an incredibly diverse, impressive, lively, exciting and, in my opinion, very beautiful city. Bangkok is located in the south of Thailand and has been the capital of the kingdom since 1782. Around 8.5 million people live in the capital and around 15 million in the metropolitan region. Bangkok is the political and cultural centre of the country. it is one of the most visited cities in the world, almost 17 million people visit Bangkok every year. One reason for the high number of visitors is the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, which opened in 2006 and is considered the most important international airport in Southeast Asia. Up to 45 million passengers are handled here every year.
When I arrived in Bangkok with my camera, I was overwhelmed by the uncountable number of impressions. I had the feeling of being in another world. Well, I come from a rather small city, which cannot be compared to Bangkok at all, and so I first had to get used to the metropolis of millions and also to the traffic, for example. But then it went very quickly that I felt very comfortable, and once you start discovering the fascinating sights, you can’t get out of being amazed. This sequence of my feelings is what I have to express in the first part of my little video series about Bangkok. Here we gain some first impressions of the city and take a closer look at Lumpini Park and Wat Arun, among others.

Bangkok ist eine unglaublich vielseitige, beeindruckende, lebhafte, aufregende und wie ich finde sehr schöne Stadt. Bangkok liegt im Süden Thailands und ist seit 1782 die Hauptstadt des Königreichs. In der Hauptstadt leben rund 8,5 Millionen Menschen, in der Metropolregion rund 15 Millionen. Bangkok ist das politische und kulturelle Zentrum des Landes. Knapp 17 Millionen Menschen besuchen Bangkok jährlich. Damit zählt die Stadt zu den meistbesuchten Städten der Welt. Ein Grund für die immense Besucherzahl ist der 2006 eröffnete Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok , der als der wichtigste internationale Flughafen in Südostasien gilt. Bis zu 45 Millionen Passagiere werden hier pro Jahr abgefertigt.
Als ich mit meiner Kamera nach Bangkok kam, war ich überwältigt von den schier unendlich vielen Eindrücken. Ich hatte das Gefühl, in einer anderen Welt zu sein. Nun ja, ich komme aus einer eher kleinen Stadt, die man überhaupt nicht mit Bangkok vergleichen kann, und so musste ich mich erst einmal an die Millionenmetropole und zum Beispiel auch an den Verkehr gewöhnen. Es ging dann aber doch sehr schnell, dass ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt habe, und wenn man erst einmal damit begonnen hat, die faszinierenden Sehenswürdigkeiten zu entdecken, kommt man aus dem Staunen nicht mehr heraus. Diese Abfolge meiner Gefühle habe ich im ersten Teil meiner kleinen Videoserie über Bangkok zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Wir gewinnen hier einige erste Eindrücke der Stadt und schauen uns unter anderem den Lumpini Park und Wat Arun genauer an.
