PADUA – A city full of life, history, and warmth
In this video, I take you on a journey to the beautiful city of Padua in northern Italy. Padua is located in the Veneto region, not far from Venice, and is one of the oldest cities in Italy. It’s renowned for its historic university—one of the oldest in Europe—and for its rich cultural and architectural heritage.
Among its most famous landmarks are the impressive Basilica of Saint Anthony, the stunning Giotto frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel, the vast Prato della Valle (one of the largest squares in Europe), and the historic Caffè Pedrocchi, a meeting place for thinkers and travelers since the 19th century.
Unfortunately, filming was not allowed inside the Basilica of Saint Anthony and the Scrovegni Chapel, so you won’t see footage from those places in this video. However, I captured many other amazing sights and perspectives that showcase the beauty and variety of the city.
Padua immediately captivated me with its diversity, warmth, and vibrant atmosphere. It is a city full of history and tradition, yet also youthful, energetic, and alive.
I tried to capture this special blend through my editing, visual style, and carefully selected music—so you can not only see the city’s character and grace, but truly feel it. I also made more use of moving time-lapse shots in this film to emphasize Padua’s energy and rhythm.
For me, Padua was a place to feel at home—heartfelt, diverse, and full of fascinating contrasts. I hope you can feel this in the video too.

In diesem Video nehme ich euch mit in die wunderschöne Stadt Padua im Norden Italiens. Padua liegt in der Region Venetien, unweit von Venedig, und zählt zu den ältesten Städten Italiens. Sie ist berühmt für ihre traditionsreiche Universität, eine der ältesten Europas, sowie für ihr reiches kulturelles und architektonisches Erbe.
Zu den bedeutendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten zählen die beeindruckende Basilika des Heiligen Antonius, die prächtigen Fresken von Giotto in der Scrovegni-Kapelle, der weitläufige Prato della Valle, einer der größten Plätze Europas, sowie das historische Caffè Pedrocchi – ein Treffpunkt für Denker und Reisende seit dem 19. Jahrhundert.
In der Basilika des Heiligen Antonius und in der Scrovegni-Kapelle war das Filmen leider nicht gestattet – deshalb findet ihr in diesem Video keine Aufnahmen von dort. Dennoch habe ich viele andere großartige Sehenswürdigkeiten und Eindrücke aus der Stadt eingefangen, die ihre Vielfalt und Schönheit zeigen.
Padua hat mich mit ihrer Wärme, Lebendigkeit und Atmosphäre sofort begeistert. Es ist eine Stadt voller Geschichte und Tradition, die gleichzeitig jung, aktiv und energiegeladen wirkt.
Ich habe versucht, genau dieses besondere Zusammenspiel mit meiner Bildsprache, dem Schnitt und einer sorgfältig ausgewählten Musik einzufangen – damit ihr den Charakter und die Anmut dieser Stadt nicht nur sehen, sondern auch spüren könnt. Besonders intensiv habe ich in diesem Film mit bewegten Zeitrafferaufnahmen gearbeitet, um die Dynamik und das Leben in Padua noch stärker zur Geltung zu bringen.
Für mich war Padua ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen – warmherzig, vielfältig und voller faszinierender Kontraste. Ich hoffe, ihr könnt diese Eindrücke in meinem Video ebenso erleben.
