FULDA: Baroque Beauty in the Heart of Germany
I’m very happy to take you with me to Fulda today – a city that, to be honest, I hadn’t really considered for a video at all. 😊
The idea came from some friends who said, “Just come along, you’ll like Fulda – and you should definitely bring your camera!” So that’s exactly what I did. I packed my equipment and simply let myself be surprised. And what can I say? Fulda really impressed me!
And if you look closely, you might even spot one or two people in the video who keep appearing here and there, patiently waiting for me to finish filming.
Our tour of discovery begins at the impressive Fulda Cathedral before continuing to the City Palace and the Boniface Monument. From there, we dive into the beautiful Old Town with the City Parish Church, the Old Town Hall, the Witches’ Tower and, above all, the many historic half-timbered houses, small streets and squares that give Fulda its very special atmosphere.
At Paulustor, the tour becomes a little quieter and greener. From there, we continue to the Orangery, St. Michael’s Church and then through the beautiful Palace Gardens. Later, our route also takes us up to Frauenberg Monastery – and, of course, there is plenty more to discover along the way.
For me, Fulda was a real surprise: a beautiful historic city with lots of half-timbered architecture, impressive buildings, green oases and an atmosphere that I really enjoyed.
I hope this video gives you a little sense of my enthusiasm for Fulda. Enjoy watching and discovering the city!
Ich freue mich sehr, euch heute mit nach Fulda zu nehmen – in eine Stadt, die ich ehrlich gesagt selbst gar nicht für ein Video auf dem Schirm hatte. 😊
Die Idee kam von Freunden, die meinten: „Komm einfach mit, Fulda wird dir gefallen – und deine Kamera solltest du auf jeden Fall mitnehmen!“ Gesagt, getan. Also habe ich mein Equipment eingepackt und mich einfach überraschen lassen. Und was soll ich sagen? Fulda hat mich wirklich begeistert!
Und wer genau hinsieht, entdeckt im Video vielleicht auch die eine oder andere Person, die immer mal wieder irgendwo herumsteht und geduldig darauf wartet, bis ich mit dem Filmen fertig bin.
Unsere Entdeckungstour beginnt am beeindruckenden Dom zu Fulda, bevor es weiter zum Stadtschloss und zum Bonifatiusdenkmal geht. Anschließend tauchen wir ein in die wunderschöne Altstadt mit der Stadtpfarrkirche, dem Alten Rathaus, dem Hexenturm und vor allem den vielen historischen Fachwerkhäusern, kleinen Straßen und Plätzen, die Fulda eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre verleihen.
Mit dem Paulustor beginnt dann der etwas ruhigere und grünere Teil unserer Tour. Von dort geht es weiter zur Orangerie, zur Michaelskirche und anschließend durch den wunderschönen Schlossgarten. Später führt uns unser Weg auch hinauf zum Kloster Frauenberg – und natürlich gibt es unterwegs noch einiges mehr zu entdecken.
Für mich war Fulda eine echte Überraschung: eine wunderschöne historische Stadt mit viel Fachwerk, beeindruckenden Bauwerken, grünen Oasen und einer Atmosphäre, die mir ausgesprochen gut gefallen hat.
Ich hoffe, dass ich euch mit diesem Video ein bisschen von meiner Begeisterung für Fulda mitgeben kann. Viel Spaß beim Anschauen und Entdecken!
