LJUBLJANA – The beautiful capital of Slovenia

Welcome to Ljubljana – the charming and dreamy capital of Slovenia. Known for its beautiful old town, the green riverside promenade along the Ljubljanica River, its elegant architecture, and its relaxed atmosphere, Ljubljana is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and livable cities in Europe.

With this video, I invite you on a cinematic journey through the historic old town of Ljubljana — past the famous Dragon Bridge, along the Ljubljanica, and up to the impressive Ljubljana Castle towering high above the city. The video is complemented by atmospheric drone shots that reveal Ljubljana from a truly special perspective.

However, my stay in Ljubljana turned out quite differently than originally planned. I had intended to combine this trip with meeting my parents, but shortly before our planned reunion, both of them became ill, and our plans sadly had to be canceled at short notice. At the same time, the weather also showed its difficult side: one day it rained almost without interruption, and even on the other days the weather remained highly unpredictable, making filming difficult at times.

Yet these very circumstances also gave the city a unique atmosphere. Autumn brought soft colors to Ljubljana, the riverside became pleasantly quiet, and the constantly changing weather created an almost melancholic, yet deeply peaceful mood throughout the city.

While walking and filming through the streets, I was reminded once again that perhaps there is no such thing as “bad weather” — only different moods that tell the story of a place in their own unique way.

This video is my attempt to capture exactly that special atmosphere.

Willkommen in Ljubljana – der charmanten und verträumten Hauptstadt Slovenias. Bekannt für ihre sehenswerte Altstadt, die grüne Uferpromenade entlang des Ljubljanica River, ihre elegante Architektur und ihre entspannte Atmosphäre zählt Ljubljana für viele zu den schönsten und lebenswertesten Städten Europas.

Mit diesem Video nehme ich Dich mit auf eine cineastische Reise durch die historische Altstadt von Ljubljana – vorbei an der berühmten Dragon Bridge, entlang der Ljubljanica und hinauf zur beeindruckenden Ljubljana Castle, die hoch über der Stadt thront. Ergänzt wird das Video durch atmosphärische Drohnenaufnahmen, die Ljubljana aus einer ganz besonderen Perspektive zeigen.

Mein Aufenthalt in Ljubljana verlief allerdings anders als ursprünglich geplant. Eigentlich wollte ich die Reise mit einem Treffen mit meinen Eltern verbinden. Kurz vor dem geplanten Treffen wurden jedoch beide krank, sodass unsere gemeinsamen Pläne leider kurzfristig ausfallen mussten. Gleichzeitig zeigte sich auch das Wetter von seiner schwierigen Seite: An einem Tag regnete es nahezu ohne Unterbrechung, und auch an den anderen Tagen war das Wetter sehr wechselhaft, wodurch Filmen zeitweise kaum möglich war.

Doch genau diese Umstände verliehen der Stadt auch eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. Der Herbst brachte sanfte Farben nach Ljubljana, entlang des Flusses wurde es angenehm ruhig, und die wechselnden Wetterstimmungen gaben der Stadt eine fast melancholische, zugleich aber auch sehr friedliche Ausstrahlung.

Während ich durch die Straßen lief und filmte, wurde mir einmal mehr bewusst, dass es vielleicht gar kein „schlechtes Wetter“ gibt — sondern nur unterschiedliche Stimmungen, die einen Ort auf ihre ganz eigene Weise erzählen.

Dieses Video ist mein Versuch, genau diese besondere Atmosphäre einzufangen.
