A beautiful German old-town: HEPPENHEIM on the Bergstraße

In this video I take you on an atmospheric journey through Heppenheim on the Bergstraße in Germany. With its historic half-timbered houses, picturesque market square and the impressive Starkenburg castle, the old town almost feels like a place from another time.

The video begins with beautiful drone shots before we head to the impressive St. Peter’s Church, which dominates the city skyline. Of course, I also give the historic old town with its narrow alleys and lovingly preserved half-timbered houses plenty of room throughout the video. Another highlight is the historic market square – the heart of the old town. Surrounded by magnificent half-timbered buildings from past centuries, it creates a truly special atmosphere. Particularly impressive is the historic town hall with its baroque timber framing and the carillon inside the tower. Towards the end of the video we also visit the beautiful Starkenburg castle above the city, offering fantastic views over Heppenheim and the Bergstraße region.

As you know from my previous videos, I once again worked with many different cinematic techniques to capture the atmosphere and character of the city as intensely as possible. And most importantly: make sure to stay until after the credits. Because then another small but very special detail of Heppenheim awaits you – the atmospheric Lantern Path with its artistic lantern motifs. Many of the lanterns feature historical scenes and fairy tale motifs in a unique silhouette style, giving the streets of Heppenheim a very special atmosphere, especially during the evening hours.

In diesem Video nehme ich Dich mit auf eine atmosphärische Reise durch Heppenheim an der Bergstraße. Mit ihren historischen Fachwerkhäusern, dem malerischen Marktplatz und der beeindruckenden Starkenburg wirkt die Altstadt fast wie aus einer anderen Zeit.

Das Video startet mit beeindruckenden Drohnenaufnahmen, und anschließend geht es zur imposanten Pfarrkirche St. Peter, die das Stadtbild prägt. Und natürlich gebe ich der historischen Altstadt mit ihren engen Gassen und liebevoll erhaltenen Fachwerkhäusern viel Raum. Ein weiterer Höhepunkt ist der historische Marktplatz – das Herzstück der Altstadt. Umgeben von prachtvollen Fachwerkhäusern aus vergangenen Jahrhunderten entsteht hier eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. Besonders beeindruckend ist auch das historische Rathaus mit seinem barocken Fachwerk und dem Glockenspiel im Turm. Zum Abschluss des Videos besuchen wir noch die wunderschöne Starkenburg oberhalb der Stadt, von der sich fantastische Ausblicke über Heppenheim und die Bergstraße bieten.

Wie Ihr es von meinen Videos kennt, habe ich auch diesmal wieder mit vielen verschiedenen filmischen Techniken gearbeitet , um die Stimmung und den Charakter der Stadt möglichst intensiv einzufangen. Und ganz wichtig: Nach dem Abspann unbedingt dranbleiben. Denn dann wartet noch ein kleines, ganz besonderes Detail von Heppenheim – der stimmungsvolle Laternenweg mit seinen kunstvollen Laternenmotiven. Viele der Laternen zeigen historische Motive und Märchenszenen in einer besonderen Scherenschnitt-Optik und verleihen den Gassen von Heppenheim gerade in den Abendstunden eine ganz eigene Atmosphäre.
