ICELAND: The fascination of a VOLCANO! Unforgettable drone sights!
Iceland once again lives up to its reputation as the “land of fire and ice”. There are more than 30 active volcanoes in Iceland, with one erupting every five years on average. After 15 months of earthquakes being recorded on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula, a volcanic system erupted spectacularly in March 2021. Molten rock made its way to the surface in a valley near a flat mountain called Fagradalsfjall in the Geldingadalur region. The eruption is also notable because there has not been an eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula for about 800 years.
According to geologists, however, the latest volcanic eruption on Iceland poses no danger to humans. The nearest inhabited place is ten kilometres from the volcano. The Blue Lagoon, a popular tourist destination, can still be visited without restrictions.
Volcanoes have fascinated me since I was a child. And Fagradalsfjall, whose lava forms fascinating streams, is the perfect visual object. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to create and present this video to you. They are hypnotic images that I can’t get enough of. And as always, I tried to edit the footage and blend it with the music in such a way that you inevitably become fully immersed in the scenery and atmosphere.

Seinem Ruf als «Land von Feuer und Eis» macht Island wieder einmal alle Ehre. Auf Island gibt es mehr als 30 aktive Vulkane, durchschnittlich bricht alle fünf Jahre einer davon aus. Nachdem auf Islands Reykjanes-Halbinsel 15 Monate lang Erdbeben registriert wurden, ist im März 2021 ein Vulkansystem spektakulär ausgebrochen. Geschmolzenes Gestein bahnte sich in einem Tal in der Nähe eines flachen Berges namens Fagradalsfjall in der Region Geldingadalur seinen Weg an die Oberfläche. Bemerkenswert ist der Ausbruch auch deshalb, weil es seit etwa 800 Jahren keine Eruption mehr auf der Reykjanes-Halbinsel gegeben hat.
Laut Geologen besteht durch den neuesten Vulkanausbruch auf Island aber keine Gefahr für Menschen. Der nächste bewohnte Ort ist zehn Kilometer vom Vulkan entfernt. Die Blaue Lagune, ein beliebtes Touristenziel, kann auch weiterhin ohne Einschränkungen besucht werden.
Vulkane faszinieren mich, seit ich ein Kind bin. Und der Fagradalsfjall, dessen Lava faszinierende Ströme bildet, st das perfekte Anschauungsobjekt. Ich freue mich sehr, dass ich die Gelegenheit hatte, dieses Video zu erstellen und euch zu präsentieren. Es sind hypnotische Bilder, an denen ich mich gar nicht sattsehen kann. Und wie immer habe ich versucht, die Aufnahmen so zu schneiden und mit der Musik zu verschmelzen, dass man unweigerlich voll und ganz in die Szenerie und Atmosphäre hineingleitet.
